James Martino, Chief Executive Officer

James is the Chief Executive Officer of Avotus and leads the firm's mission of delivering exceptional value to our clients with powerful software, talented subject matter experts and proven money-saving platforms. Mr. Martino served as the company’s Global Vice President of Operations and Customer Relations prior to being promoted to CEO in March of 2014.

Mr. Martino has had the good fortune of being intimately involved during the past 25 years in emerging firms that have successfully commercialized dynamic technologies into new business models aimed at saving enterprise clients money. In November of 2001, Mr. Martino founded Last Mile Connections and served as CEO until 2007. Prior to that he managed a $2.8 billion P&L for Global Crossing and served as a Senior Vice President for e.spire Communications. In the early 1990s, as Director of National Operations for Teleport Communications Group (TCG), he led business development and financing activities that resulted in the deployment of several of the nation’s first commercial broadband networks. After ten years of developing broadband networks as a Senior Executive at TCG and ACSI Network Technologies, Mr. Martino spent the subsequent ten years developing dynamic e-commerce and exchange solutions that would ride atop the ubiquitous broadband platforms he had earlier helped create.

Mr. Martino brings credible experience as a telecommunications executive as evidenced by a proven track record of growth and repeat financings. He has either personally led or contributed to obtaining financings in excess of $1 billion. He has an MBA with Honors in International Finance from St. John’s University in New York and a BS in Finance from The University at Albany.

Jayraj Chheda, Chief Financial Officer

Jayraj is the Chief Financial Officer for Avotus. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has over 13 years of Global experience in Finance and Accounting. He has worked in diverse industries and brings rich experience in financial management, capital market, setting up of accounting verticals in BPO/KPO and transitioning of accounting processes. Prior to joining Avotus, Jayraj worked for State Street Syntel Sourcing Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of the world’s second largest custodian, and was managing assets under management of over $100 billion for US-based pension funds. Jayraj has worked with other reputed companies, including RSM McGladrey, which is the fifth largest accounting firm in the United States.

Amit Shrivastava, Head of Service Delivery - India

Amit has more than 13 years of experience in the areas of Operations Management, Project Management, Client Servicing and Team Management. At Avotus, Amit is responsible for overall delivery and functioning of the processes, capacity planning and effective utilization of resources. He analyzes MIS reports and other statements with a view to reduce the defects in the processes and resolves client queries. His overarching goal is to achieve targets while adhering to the SLAs of the processes involving the handling of third-level escalations.

Amit has extensive experience managing and leading teams for running successful process operations. He is well-versed in developing procedures and service standards for business excellence. Amit is resourceful at maintaining relationships with clients to achieve quality service norms by resolving their service-related critical issues.

Prior to joining Avotus, Amit worked with HTMT Global Solutions and was responsible for Customer Relationship Management, Process Transition, People Management, Performance Management, Process Improvement and MIS. He has been associated with organizations like GTL Limited, ChoiceConnex, Info Vision Solutions, Voice Data Management and Fintax Management India Limited.

Amit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.

Pascal Herman, Director, Service Delivery (NA)

Pascal has over 20 years of experience concentrated in the development of innovative solutions to meet the technological demands of clients.  As the leader of our Service Delivery Team, he ensures all Avotus clients receive superior responsive service.  He is accountable for the management and retention of all Avotus customers. Pascal brings a wide range of experience from his previous employment with Hydro-Québec and Micromédica where he specialized in client migrations, network installations, and a variety of high-tech, complex solutions. He has also managed and deployed extensive installation and migration projects for Société Québécoise d'Information Juridique, École des Hautes Études Commerciales and Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf.  Additionally, he has written user training guides for procedures and tracking of technical support requests.

Pascal obtained an IB and DCS degree in Computer Science from Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Montreal and continued his studies at Polytechnique and Ecole Technologie Supérieur in Computer Science and Engineering. He also currently holds a license in financial security.

Hugh Shannon, Director, Business Development

Hugh has more than 20 years of experience and is responsible for a number of channel-related duties, including the development, implementation and overall growth of the company’s channel distribution program. Hugh brings extensive experience in channel partner and sales channel management that include holding key positions at AT&T Enterprise Business Services as Regional Vice President, Indirect Sales Channel and AT&T Easy Commerce Services as Sales Director. Hugh played an instrumental role in building and launching the AT&T Alliance Channel Program, establishing five new territories hiring high-performing channel managers in the Southeast, Southwest, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Midwest.

Hugh holds a bachelor’s degree in Film Production from Hunter College, NY and has completed The Senior Executive Program (CSEP) from Columbia University Graduate School, New York.
